Facebook Marketplace not working on iPhone? 9 Ways to fix it!

If you can navigate the Facebook Marketplace with ease, it can be a source of money and a location to get high-quality goods at reasonable costs. The feature may, however, be unavailable due to a few minor flaws. I can relate to your annoyance because I’ve been there. Here’s how to fix Facebook Marketplace not working on iPhone or iPad and fix this issue.

1. Check if you’re eligible to use Facebook Marketplace

According to Facebook, the Marketplace isn’t yet available in some regions. So you might not be able to access it if you fall into one of the regions with restricted access.

You might want to see if your region can access Facebook Marketplace from Meta’s Business Help Center. Additionally, note that the Marketplace is only available to users above 18.

2. Update the Facebook app

Your Facebook app’s Marketplace feature could malfunction during setup or for other in-app reasons.

Although there isn’t a clear explanation for why updating your Facebook app resolves the marketplace problem, it typically does. Additionally, you might be using an old version of the Facebook app that is incompatible with your iOS version.

Fortunately, updating the Facebook app on your iPhone is comparable to updating any other software.

3. Uninstall and re-install Facebook

Uninstalling and reinstalling your Facebook app could work in some cases if updating it doesn’t. On your iPhone’s local storage, associated data is removed when you remove the Facebook app.

Additionally, the simplest approach to delete the Facebook cache on the iPhone is to uninstall the Facebook app. Although Facebook cache aids in application speed, if it fills up, it may jam your phone’s RAM or result in the failure of the app’s components. The cache is a short-term memory that enables you to restore an app’s prior state. However, if it loads wrongly, the app may fail.

Re-installing the app gives it a fresh start. To re-install the Facebook app:

  1. Go to the App Store on your iPhone.
  2.  Search Facebook via the search icon.
  3.  Select Facebook when you see it → tap install to re-install Facebook.

Once re-installed, launch the Facebook app and try re-accessing the Facebook Marketplace to see if it works.

4. Disable VPNs and proxies

Using a VPN or proxy network will relocate you. Given that Facebook limits access to its Marketplace in some areas, this could prohibit the Facebook Marketplace from functioning.

Make sure to terminate all active proxy networks and VPNs on your iPhone or iPad. Close the Facebook app and start it again. Then check if it functions by opening the Marketplace.

5. Restart your iPhone

If previous tricks fail, restarting your iPhone refreshes all apps and jump-starts your device network connection. This can help restore the Facebook Marketplace altogether.

6. Sign out and sign in again

The Facebook app sometimes naively restricts your account from accessing the Marketplace. While this bug is beyond your control as a user, logging out and back into the Facebook app might correct it.

To log out of your Facebook app on the iPhone, tap your profile icon at the bottom-right of the app → tap Log out. You might also want to close the Facebook app at this point.

Log out Facebook on iPhone

Tap the Facebook app from your apps library to relaunch it. Then log back in and try using Facebook Marketplace to see if it works.

7. Try accessing Facebook via a browser

If everything else fails, try logging into your Facebook account on your iPhone using your preferred online browser. In the top right corner, tap the menu bars. Next, check Marketplace to see if it functions. Your account is clean if it does. If it doesn’t work, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling Facebook a few more times.

8. Ensure Facebook has not revoked your Marketplace access

Facebook cautions that if you use the Marketplace in a way that violates its community standards or commerce policies, it reserves the right to terminate your access to it. See if you’ve broken any rules by looking at Facebook’s Commerce Policy.

Try using the Facebook Marketplace link to access it if you can’t find the Marketplace symbol in your Facebook app. If it states that Facebook has terminated your access, you can attempt to lift the ban if you believe you’ve been mistreated:

  1. Tap the menu icon at the bottom-right of the Facebook app.
  2. Go to Marketplace. Then tap Request review to request access to the Marketplace. Facebook might consider your appeal if it’s valid.

Always remember to check your Facebook Support Inbox for updates about your request.

To access your Support Inbox via the iOS app, click the menu icon at the bottom right. Scroll down and tap Support Inbox.

9. Contact Facebook support

By contacting Facebook support, you can expedite the problem-solving process and soon have easy access to the Marketplace. If you are unable to access the Marketplace, Facebook Support can determine whether the problem is with your location, your access has been revoked, or account-related bugs. They can also assist you in solving the problem from their end.

To contact Facebook Support:

  1. Tap the menu icon at the bottom right.
  2. Scroll down and tap Help & Support → select Report a problem.

Tap on Manu, Help and support and report a problem in Facebook app
  3. Next, select Continue to report.
  4. Tap Include in Report to include a complete log of the problem.
  5. Select Marketplace.
  6. Type your report message in the empty field.
OptionalTap Take Screenshot. Migrate to the Marketplace menu. Then tap Take screenshot to submit it with the report.
  7. Finally, tap Send at the top-right to submit your report.

Tap on Continue to report, include in report, type problem and tap send in Facebook app

Signing out!

I’m done now! If you are unable to access the Facebook Marketplace, one of the above fixes will work. One cap, however, does not fit everyone. Move on to a different approach if the one you’ve tried doesn’t work. Alternately, you might want to test several solutions at once.
