11 Ways to fix Location Services on iPhone

Location Services on iPhone :-In today’s life, location feature in our phones plays an important role in providing us several daily basis facilities. These may include finding routes to our destination while driving, finding nearby coffee shops, ATM etc. Location services are designed to help iPhone users to get location facilities, but what if somehow these services stop working? Now, how we can fix this?

1. Check whether your location services are enabled

This is the first and basic step, you just need to check whether your location is ON or OFF in your iPhone or not. Before we check any advance settings, you need to check the basic location service that can be easily activated. To check this, follow the steps discussed below:-

1. Go to Settings and then select Privacy and Security.

2. Tap Location Services.

3. Ensure that the toggle for Location Services is ON.

2. Restarting the app in question

Many times, most issues related to some apps can be fixed easily by just restarting the app that’s facing these location issues.

1. Open the App Switcher and swipe on the app in question to close it.  

2. After this, Restart the app to check whether your issues are solved or not.

3. Check if the app has Current Location access

Many apps on your iPhone require your Current Location data to function correctly. You can follow these steps to check whether the app has access to your location services.

  1. Go to Settings and the select Privacy & Security.
  2. Tap Location Services.
  3. Select the app which is having issues.
  4. Ensure that the Precise Location istoggled on.

4. Check Date and Time settings

Location services may not work properly if your Date & Time is not correct. You can follow below mentioned steps to set your Date & Time accurately. 

  1. Go to Settings and then tap General and then Date & Time.
  2. Toggle on Set Automatically.

5. Check Content & Privacy Restrictions

If after all these, still your location services are not working then you can check your Content & Privacy Restrictions. Maybe you have disabled them, so you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings and then select Screen Time and then Content & Privacy Restrictions.
  2. Enter your Screen Time password if you’ve created one.
  3. Tap Location Services and enable the Location Services toggle.

6. Disable Low Data Mode and Low Power Mode

While using Low Data Mode and Low Power Mode can help preserve your iPhone’s battery and cellular data allowance, enabling them can prevent apps from accessing Location Services on your iPhone. Here’s how you can disable them:

  1. Go to Settings and then Cellular and then Cellular Data Options.
  2. Tap Data Mode and deselect Low Data Mode.

3. Then, go back to Settings and then Battery.

4. Disable the Low Power Mode toggle.

7. Reset Location and Privacy settings

If still you can’t access to your Location Services, it’s better to reset the Location & Privacy Settings to their default values. You can follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings and then General and then Transfer or Reset iPhone.
  2. Tap Reset and then Reset Location and Privacy.

3. Type the iPhone Passcode and follow the on-screen instructions.

8. Check for iOS updates

Bugs within iOS can affect Location Services, and in that case, you can check for iOS updates that includes bug fixes. You can follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings and then General and then Software Update.
  2. Tap Download and install if any update is available.

9. Perform a hard reboot

If all these methods don’t help, then you can perform hard reboot on your iPhone.

10. Perform a factory reset

If all above mentioned methods failed, then you can reset your iPhone. This will delete all your data and reset your iPhone to the default settings.

  1. Go to Settings and then General and then Transfer or Reset iPhone.
  2. Choose Erase All Content and Settings.
  3. Tap Continue and then Type the iPhone Passcode.

11. Contact Apple Customer Support

If nothing works, then you can Contact Apple Customer Support. They can easily help you to fix your location services.
